6 months baby - still not able to sit independently

Hi mummies, is this normal? Any tips on how to help our LO to sit unassistedly? Perhaps some exercises or routines or toys that will help? Thank you.

My 6 months old baby is still unable to sit independently as well but I do let my baby practice by sitting down on the bed or play mat when I have time. I slowly drag longer the practice time each time — for example, my baby tried sitting for 2 minutes in the morning. The next practice will be 3 minutes, then 4 minutes etc. The number of practices and time interval is up to you to decide and at your and baby’s comfort level. This is what my friend’s baby does in infant care as well. You can put your baby’s favourite things in front to encourage him/her to sit longer.
