Insurance asking for IC?

Hello mummies, I’m very inexperienced with regards to insurance matters but my ‘husband’ is buying insurance for himself, he asked for my IC and my daughter’s birth cert, saying it’s for ‘background’ check does anyone know if u need a picture of your family ic for ‘background’ check?

What kind of insurance is tt? Only insurance for baby needs both parents' particulars. Others especially your own hospitalisation or life insurance don't need your spouse or kids' particulars.
