Hi mummies, I want my daughter to learn discipline n self defence. Our nearby CC has karate n akido. Which is better? Another reason was hope this martial arts came teach her to stay calm n control her anger. She is only 7 yrs old. Any advice pls. Appreciate.

Hi, I practices both so I gusess I can share with you. Karate got both Defence and offense whereas aikido is purely Defence (Hereford there is no aikido competition) - so it depends which u prefer. Both requires discipline and karate even more so. Therefore aikido is more suitable for girl if just want Defence and karate if you are poking for something more versatile. Personally I would prefer karate, but why not both?
