16 wks plus still cannot drink water and UTI

Hi mummies, i cannot take any water since wk 8 and had been diagnosed with uti. Only frm midnight up till ard 8am i can take some milo. Went hospital for dripping for 3 times already because of dehydration. Every time i drink, i feel nausea and giddy. Had gastric problem bfore pregnant and it’s getting worse now so if i force myself to drink more, i will throw up acid and suffer frm severe gastric pain. Any mummies experience the same thing? Tried warm water, ginger ale, ginger tea, soft drink, honey water, chrysanthemum tea, ribena. All nt working🫠 Any advice?

Have you seek medical advice and did you get prescriptions of medications? They can do thorough check on this UTI case for you. UTI will definitely require lots of drinking to avoid dehydration. Do not skip meals and always eat in small portions. Try for other drinks like 100 plus or non isotonic drink H-TWO-O to help you give energy, to make you refresh. Also, if you have gastric, seek advice if you can get gastric medications too but never be dependent on it. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. Appreciated

Better to see a gastric specialist. I had somewhat similar experience, but not as severe as yours because I was still able to drink water. The specialist will do an ultrasound to check your other organs such as your gall bladder, because sometimes it’s not your gastric giving issues, it’s the gall bladder or sometimes even your pancreas, but can show similar symptoms as gastric problem. I was hospitalised for 4 days due to oesophageal ulcer and now all is good.

Now i’m able to drink a bit but gastric feels like getting worse as it pains every time i eat so i barely eating nowadays😮‍💨 I will ask for ultrasound during my visit. Hopefully everything is ok. I had gastric problems(though not pregnant that time) every morning throw up stomach acid, my mom prepared me warm milk with honey first thing in the morning. If u drink enough during day time, it’s ok to sleep through the night. Just make sure you have the necessary intake before midnight.

Thanks kalay. I will try🙂

Not sure if it will work for you but I was nauseous whenever I drank water too. I found that orange juice and 100 works for me!

Same for me. Felt nausea throughout the pregnancy. Orange juice and 100 plus are my daily saviors. I have to bring 100 plus with me even when I go overseas. No choice

Oh dear, can you take soup? Milk? Vegetable juices? Frozen ice lollies made out of vegetable juice?
