Concern about my child’s immunity

Hi mummies! My child seems to fall sick easily, not sure if it’s because he was delivered via C section? I heard this can impact a child’s immunity. Has anyone experienced this with their kids?

Hi there! I understand your concern about your child's immunity. It's natural to worry when our little ones seem to get sick easily. While it's true that babies born via C-section may have a slightly different initial exposure to beneficial bacteria compared to those born vaginally, there are still plenty of things you can do to support your child's immune system. Firstly, breastfeeding is one of the best ways to boost your baby's immunity. Breast milk contains antibodies that help protect your baby from infections. If you're unable to breastfeed, consider using donor breast milk or speak to your pediatrician about suitable formula options. Another important factor is ensuring your child gets a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables, which are rich in essential vitamins and minerals. Additionally, make sure your child gets enough sleep and stays physically active, as these also play a key role in supporting a strong immune system. Finally, remember to practice good hygiene at home, such as regular handwashing and keeping shared spaces clean, to minimize the risk of infections. It's always a good idea to consult with your pediatrician if you have concerns about your child's immunity. They can provide personalized advice and guidance based on your child's specific needs and medical history. I hope these tips help and that your little one starts feeling better soon! Hang in there, mama. You're doing a great job taking care of your child. https://invl.io/cll6she

Yeah, I've heard something similar. Since C-section babies might miss out on those crucial good bacteria in their gut, it could definitely affect their immunity. Boosting their immune system seems like the way to go. Can try probiotic and prebiotic as both are helpful for the gut.

I actually discussed this with my doctor (paed). He explained that C-sections could influence a child's immune system development due to the potential lack of beneficial gut bacteria. Better to heed your doctor's guidance for maintaining your child's health and immunity.

I've noticed that too. A friend of mine who had a C-section delivery mentioned that her child tends to catch colds more often. It seems like we might need to pay extra attention to boosting their immunity in these cases.

You may be right. C-section seem to have less good bacteria, which might impact their immunity and brain development. It's a good idea to discuss this with a healthcare provider for personalized advice.

Yes it's true but nowadays there are supplements that they can take, so don't worry. Balanced diet is key too and avoid introducing fried food or sugary food too early

Correct, c-section born children have less protective bacteria, so it does affect gut health, and also compromise immune system.
