Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding 1 week old baby

Hi mommies, I’m trying to latch my baby again after stopping for a few days to heal my nipple injury. #advicepls how long should I latch my baby on per feeding? My recent try, baby latched for 5 mins and fell asleep. Then he latched for 20mins. Can mommies share what is a good duration guide?

i never followed a guide but a saying from other mummies that when baby is full, they will unlatch on their own. mine would latch for 1 hour when she was just a new born but she will unlatch when shes ready and full. its normal for our nipples to hurt after some time, put some nipple cream as often as you can throughout the day. youre doing great dear!
