It is common for pregnant women to experience changes in their skin, including the development of acne. These changes can be caused by hormone fluctuations and increased blood flow, which can cause the oil glands in the skin to become overactive. If you are 12 weeks pregnant and experiencing acne, there are several things you can do to help manage your symptoms: Keep your skin clean: Wash your face twice a day with a gentle cleanser to remove excess oil and bacteria. Avoid scrubbing or over-cleansing, as this can irritate your skin and make your acne worse. Avoid touching your face: Your hands can carry bacteria and other germs that can cause acne. Avoid touching your face, especially if you have not washed your hands, to help prevent the spread of bacteria. Use non-comedogenic products: Non-comedogenic products are specially formulated to not clog pores. Use non-comedogenic moisturizers, sunscreens, and makeup to help prevent the development of acne. Avoid picking or squeezing pimples: Picking or squeezing pimples can spread bacteria and cause inflammation, leading to more acne and scarring.
