Does classical or other music help babies develop at infant stage? How frequently should i be playing?

Growing up, I used to think that babies who listened to classical songs like Mozart or Beethovan would generally become smarter kids that those who don't but according to this online article (http://www.babycenter.com/0_the-mozart-effect-classical-music-and-your-babys-brain_9308.bc) it doesn't help with brain development. It perhaps will help to soothe and calm one's mind. If you had played classical songs for your baby when she/he was in your tummy, it would perhaps identify the songs as something that would soothe him/her down. But of course, there's no harm in letting your child listening to classica songs at an early stage. Personally think it's a good way to expose them to a wider variety before they grow up and listen to mainstream songs themselves
