I think it's safer to engage from agency because I have friends whose ad-hoc or freelance confinement nanny just quit suddenly and she can't do anything about it. with agency, they are trained and exchange a new nanny for you and the nanny won't run away. you will also need to apply with MOM her work permit yourself if you engage a freelance nanny from overseas.
