My lo is turning one month old in a few days. He has been feeding very frequently, sometimes every hour or twice every hour. Is he experiencing a growth spurt? This has been ongoing for 2 weeks already. His output and weight gain are good. Just wondering when will this end as it is very tiring to wake up so frequently at night. thanks!

Newborns have smaller stomachs and require more frequent feedings. It is actually that your baby is waking to nurse. I have a friend whose baby tend to sleep through the day (and night), she had to wake him to feed him to ensure that he is not going hungry. Hang in there. Your baby will grow and soon the feeding intervals will gradually stretch out. Catch some rest whenever you can. Take care!!

this is normal, don't worry! just feed on demand for the first 4-6 weeks. soon he will stretch his feeding intervals to every 3h and may also sleep for 5h for the first stretch of night sleep.

tis is normal just feed when there is needed.. very soon baby may sleep for 4 to 5 hr b4 wake up for milk
