As the mummies above mentioned, your baby is mos familiar with you. Hold your baby close to you, so that he can hear your heartbeat which is familiar to him. Or sway yourself (not the baby) gently as you cuddle him as this will trigger security and familiarity with your baby and remind him of being inside your womb swimming around. Limit the number of people that will be visitting you, and keep your environment as peaceful as possible to let your baby adapt.

There is a term known as fourth trimester where baby is trying to adjust the life after coming out from womb. You can try to swaddle your baby to let him/her feel more secured and create an environment similar to the womb, e.g. create white noise during his/her sleep. You can try baby chiropractic care too. This is basically help baby to adjust any misalignment during birth process. http://blog.myfatpocket.com/judging-me/our-saturday-routine/

I think simply letting your baby rest, handling him/her gently, responding to his/her needs promptly and giving lots of cuddles to help your baby feel secure will greatly help your baby adapt to being in this new environment and get over the birth experience.
