When to prepare?

Started buying stuff around 5 months, all neutral colors. I bought more after gender reveal. Clothes were all hand me downs from family and friends. Made sure baby's essential stuff are complete before I turned 7 months. At 7 months I started washing the clothes and organize some items. Hospital bag was ready at 8 months. I am now at my 36th week, car seat, baby bag with all clothes, my clothes and my husband's are all ready in the car just in case.
