Is generating more saliva than usual normal in pregnancy? Why does it happen?

Excessive saliva is common during the first trimester of pregnancy. This is probably caused by the hormonal changes during pregnancy. Also if you're feeling nauseous, you may swallow less often. This is not a serious condition, and won't harm your baby.
