Infant Care

I’m still debating when to send my baby to infant care vs home based nanny. How much can infants learn at infant care? At what age is best?

I just want to update my own question on the experience I learnt from my own baby. As my baby’s first year was during covid with complete lockdown etc, we sent to a nanny nearby for a few months so that we could work in peace. At that time, my baby was already able to sit up and we were trying to introduce solids. Our nanny had several older children who went to her after school. So mornings my baby had her complete attention, or so I thought. We placed my baby with her for 6months but tbh I felt that this particular nanny was not keen to do much. So when we were expected to return to office for work hours, I decided to switch my baby to infant care near our office. For the first few months when my baby wasn’t moving around much and socialising, I felt nanny was okay. But once my baby started to walk around (started very very early) and needed to learn to eat solids, I felt that infant care was able to stimulate better.

Sending mine to infant care at 4mo. I strongly believe that it'd be better for baby's growth and development although they only sleep and feed most of the time - teachers are trained and there are still activities going on for them
