If this is your first time then it may exceed your EDD, it may not. But usually dr/gynae will have cervix check & see if baby's head engaged thru the birth canal at 38/39 weeks. Then, when you know whethere you dilate a bit or not then you will have a rough gauge whether it would be long/short labour. Pardon it all depend on our body, baby, and other factor. Because for me, both babies exceed EDD eventhough I dilated 3cm. 😅🤣
