Horrible full body rash, how long it is going to take to recover😫

I’m experiencing horrible pregnancy rash which doctor suspect is PUPPS and pregnancy eczema since week 18, has been struggling to sleep every night and the rash have spread from my tummy to my hands and legs. Have previous eczema flare before but didnt last this long. I’m in week 22 already and it’s still itching badly!! Tried suu balm to ease the itch temporarily and doctor prescribed elomet which is not being very effective as of now:( #firstbaby

had the exact same condition and i feel your frustration, went to my gynae and he prescribed steroid creams which i tried to avoid and only applied once, and tried suu balm and the itchy snake powder as well but didn’t work for me at all. i went to see a skin specialist afterwards: Dr Ang Chee Beng located at mount A, he then prescribed steroid creams (said it wasn’t bad if don’t overuse it) which i used for a week on the itchy spots and then stopped and also took some anti itch meds as well, and they gradually stopped itching. moisturising is also v important because what might be the start of these can be dry skin & also because our skin is being stretched, after my PUPPs gradually started to go away (left with marks/scars) i applied palmer’s cocoa butter along with mustela’s stretchmark cream every night. do consider seeing a skin specialist if it doesnt get better! or ask your gynae if he has any solutions for you although i doubt so

Hi! My Puppp happened when I was in week 24. Seen Dr Lim at The Dermatology Practice at Mount E Novena. Was prescribed 2 medications and Elomet. Like you, I wanted to avoid steroid creams as much as possible so I even tried Ceradan, physiogel. In the end, it was so bad as it has affected my sleep and mood. I took the medication and creams religiously. It actually went off after 2 weeks. Had a relapse again in week 32. Did the same regime and recovered in wk 34. Scars are gone and skin looks normal now (wk 39) What helps is I stopped all commercial soaps too. I used grandpa pine tar soap and bath mainly in cold/ice water to relieve itch. For clothes, i recommend Uniqlo mesh from men’s section and if home, wear as minimal as possible to prevent sweat irritation. Hope u get better soon mommy!

I had the same rash during second trimester but it was only on my tummy area. Doc also suspected PUPPS and took blood test; my result was normal. I was prescribed with a mild steroid cream, Dermasone, along with ‘BASIC’ Emolin and Aquacream. It works for me... But try to avoid using the steroid cream often, and don’t stratch as it will leave a mark. I also used Aveeno Skin Relief body wash.

I’m experiencing this too! Started at 18 weeks as well. Do you happen to be expecting a baby boy? Read online that PUPPS occur more for women expecting boys. Have yet to see my gynae for this condition yet. So far I applied calamine lotion but doesn’t seem to help. Now i’m scratching all over like a chimpanzee :(

I started itching badly in Week 16. I changed out my body wash to Aveeno Dermexa and made sure to shower with cool water. Somehow the itch worsens if the water is slightly warmer. The moisturizer from the Dermexa line also seemed to help for me. You could try it out. Or if all doesn't work, see a dermatologist instead?

had the same problem too. try to wear loose clothing and material that does not irritate the skin. im still suffering from eczema though my lo is a month old. most important, try not to scratch

If it’s pupps then it will only recover once u deliver... the main thing is don’t scratch

It will only go off after you give birth . That’s happened to me too .

hi may i know what works for u? im suffering frm this and its so bad!!
