Shoplifting child

If you saw a child stealing from a store, what would you do? I was just in a stationery shop and caught a boy (aged around 9-10) picking up a fancy pen and hiding it in his pocket. His mum was on the phone and oblivious to what was going on. #shoplifting #stealing

I've actually seen this happen at a grocery store -- a kid snuck a candy bar into his pocket while his mother wasn't looking. I was standing really close to him so I cleared my throat loudly and stared at him. He got the message and placed the chocolate back on the rack, and promptly ran back to his mother.

I'd walk up to his mum and discreetly tell her that you saw her son stealing and to check his pockets. The mum may react negatively though, to which I recommend you just smile, and walk away. You did what was right and that's all that matters! :)

Probably alert the mum. Few possible outcomes though. 1. How come u so kaypoh? Mind your own business. 2. Thanks for letting me know. *scolds child* 3. *puts back pen and run*

i will clear the throat and stare at him too and alert the mother too .
