I have a five-month-old son and I am breastfeeding him. Can I have honey?

While you should not feed honey to children under 1 year of age due to the risk of infant botulism, it is fine to consume honey when you are breastfeeding as the honey will be processed by our digestive system. The botulism toxin does not pass into breastmilk, so it is safe to take in honey. The spores are also too huge to pass through the body and into the milk. http://www.infantbotulism.org/general/faq.php
