How a punishment affect my kids developing their positive thinking habit?

the term punishment can mean different things to different people. for some it means hitting and shouting, while for some it means grounding or taking away certain privileges. i would say it is important to punish in the latter manner if a child is not following certain rules and discipline. do not however hit or scream, as these can surely have a negative impact on the child, and also reduce self-confidence.
