Hi Pavin, there are 2 types of strengths you could be talking about: strengths of talent, and strengths of character. Talent may remain dormant at times, so we can use the following criteria: performance (being good at something), energy (feeling good doing it) or high use (choosing to do it). On the other hand, strengths of character can be observed when your child goes about his/her daily activity. Once you identify the strength e.g. kindness, you can leverage it by giving opportunities to use this particular strength. Hope this helps! :)

Often it's by chance right and the talent will be honed on further through nurturing, training and practising. Famous athletes, dancers and outstanding people in other professions often say that they discovered their talent as kids, and often by chance. Taylor Swift learnt to play her guitar by self-teaching and the rest is history!

Just let them try as many things they'd like. Provide them with opportunities to experience many things. Don't put any pressure on them. If they don't like it, let them move on to something that might be more interesting to them.
