You can enroll your child at the same age as other children. For example, kindergarten starts for children aged 5. Of course, there are nurseries and pre schools to consider before that. Duration wise, schools generally start between 7:45am and 9am depending on the institution and end at around noon for kindergarten, or 3pm for primary and high school students. Foreign students will be charged slightly higher fees than local students. For the 2012 academic year, for international students the annual costs are 356 SGD for primary school, 486 SGD for secondary school and 772 SGD for junior college. The fees charged by private and international schools will vary from institution to institution. Just to add on, if I'm not mistaken, you may need to apply for Student Pass for your child to be enrolled in a kindergaerten/childcare centre registered with MSF. http://www.ica.gov.sg/page.aspx?pageid=321#otherinfo Applications should be submitted at least 2 months (but not more than 6 months) from the course commencement date. Processing time would take around 2 weeks (according to the website). There is a processing fee of $30 for each application (regardless of outcome) and a $60 issuance fee for successful applicants. Do have a read at the website for more information.
