Be firm, be stern and tell her off for good. Once is all you need. We accept all kinds of advices but don’t overdo it. The thing with MILs is that they forgot that’s OUR child and they should probably chill on their “do this, do that”. Don’t pass back? Go up to her and take back your baby, it’s YOUR baby. She can cry for all she want. I mean who are you to hold my baby and not give me back? Anytime I want my baby back, you jolly well give me back la. If you want to hold baby 24/7, wait for your daughter to give birth (if any daughter) or you go and try yourself.

As mother in laws go yours does not sound too bad. Her heart seems to be in the right place. I'd just discuss with her directly about what changes you would like, but be nice about it. Have your partner present too.
