My baby isn’t walking at 14 months

My girl is turning 15 months next week but she can’t walk independently yet. She can walk while holding onto furniture but my PD says she’s a little slow. Is this normal?

Your child’s developmental milestones are compared against a bell curve of other children. When your PD says she’s a little slow, it might just mean she’s falling slightly behind but within expected range. Don’t fret too much for now and instead you can try to help her along by showering her with lots of praises and stand further away for her to make little extra effort to get to you or give her a plushie or ball to hold to stabilise herself while she walks.

Sorry I don’t mean to sound rude but your PD knows better and you should bring it up to him/her for better advice since he/she is the professional, rather than a bunch of anonymous ppl online.

It’s normal. My second born started walking independently at 16 months. While my first born started much earlier than him. Every child is different so no worries.

your pd has already advised you so probably you just need to give her more time? Eventually she will be able to walk independently

My elder LO started to walk independently at 19mths. it is normal. no worries.

My nephew walked only at 18-19 months.. another one was 16 months
