I only experienced it after birth. After passing motion, I used wet wipes to clean the area as it is gentler on the skin and cleaner and also apply ice pack on it to reduce the swelling. I also took Duphalac to soften my stool so it doesn't aggravate the piles, you can buy it off the counter but do check with gynae whether it's safe for you to take.
