According to this article (https://www.healthychildren.org/English/ages-stages/baby/feeding-nutrition/Pages/Why-Formula-Instead-of-Cows-Milk.aspx), the reason why formula fed babies fall sick lesser as compared to those on cow milk is because lacks the proper amounts of iron, vitamin C, and other nutrients that infants need. Cows milk also does not contain the healthier fat for growing babies and may even cause iron-deficiency anemia in some babies, since cow’s milk protein can irritate the lining of the stomach and intestine, leading to loss of blood into the stools.
