scared of escalators

My daughter is suddenly afraid of escalators. Any advice on how to help her get over the fear?

How old is your daughter? Did something happen / did she see an accident, have a scare on the escalator? Why not take her on a travelator and then if she is comfortable with it, hold her hand tightly and take her up and down a short escalator till she gets comfortable with it.
