Both husband and me are Malaysian and we are coming from Chinese educated background. But our child born in Sg. Should we speak only mandarin to our child? If yes will it be difficult for our child to pick up the english spoken environment when growing up? And primary language in sg is english. I feel weird when I speak mandarin to our child but people around me mostly speak english. Both of us feel that Mandarin and English are important too.

Wow if you are from a Chinese ed background, rejoice! I would not worry about your child picking up English - the larger environment in Singapore will ensure he/she hears it often enough. It will be good if one parent can speak English. If you are not confident of your language, listen to lots of audio. When I first started reading the news, I listened to BBC Radio every single day, whenever I could. I picked up correct pronunciations that way. Good luck!
