Hi doc, can you share some tips or activities or exercise that can help the parent and child manage ADHD. like typical foods to avoid, screentime etc

Exercise has been shown to improve ADHD symptoms and I’ll encourage you to explore options with your child eg cycling, swimming, ball games are all great options. Food wise, avoid high sugar diets and artificial food colouring where possible. I do find that children with adhd are often more susceptible to screen addiction, perhaps due to their difficulties with self control, impulsivity and the dopamine boost they get. So it’s important not to allow total freedom before they have the ability to self-regulate, but instead discuss with them and set realistic limits that are enforceable.
