Super Mum

Hi mama, Changing your gynae is entirely your decision and if it means that you’re more comfortable with the new doctor of choice + you feel confident that you’ll be better supported in the birth that you would like to have, I’d say go for it. I’m not saying this to, in any way, sideline or marginalise the importance of having a doctor but rather, sometimes, the fit may not be ideal. The relationship that you have with your medical team in birth is an important one to have and if you can’t feel comfortable with asking your gynae the questions you want or even entrusting your birth to your gynae (which is why you have a doctor) then when you’re in your most vulnerable state during labour and birth, fear and anxiety may creep in which will entail the production of stress hormones which prove counterproductive during labour. Trust your instincts and more importantly, trust your body and the process :)
