I went for fertility test and my doctor said I have pcos. It was based on me having irregular periods and borderline failed glucose test. Since I was very underweight and not eating unhealthily, losing weight and eating more healthy couldn't apply to me so my doctor just prescribed metformin, and myoinositol and letrozole. But for some reason it didnt work. Rather, I was feeling sick from all the medications. In the end it was really expensive, so I decided to stop with this doctor and go public route instead. So I was referred from polyclinic to KKH and did more tests (like androgen test, hyfosy test etc) and the doctor there instead told me they would not consider me as PCOS, so he did not prescribe metformin nor inositol (which was quite a relief for me), but since my period is irregular, he just gave me letrozole for me to time my ovulation. He prescribed a higher dose of letrazole (also did a test to see if the dosage is sufficient) for me compared to the previous doctor. At first after 3 months I thought all hope is lost, but doctor say many healthy couples below 35 may even take up to a year to get pregnant. I am near 35 already, so it's not weird that its more difficult. So I tried another 3 months and I really got pregnant! Weird thing is, I've been trying for 5 months and on the 6 month, where I decided to give up for that month because I caught covid previous month and feeling down, me and my husband just casually had intercourse (without really checking the timing) and it was successful! I have a feeling stress may have played a big part to successful conception. Also, if one doctor doesn't work, it doesn't hurt to try another! There is also the IUI or IVF route in the event nothing works. There is government funding for both of these! Was thinking of trying IUI if it doesn't work once I reach 35.
actually my doc told me pcos is very common. its nt a major issue of people ttc. its just more of how rushed are u in terms of timeline(age) and like stress tt it causes and type of pcos. anyways can try tcm ... some do like accupuncture... i did like womb and moxibust . i hv friends and myself that took pills to regulate period and trigger ovulation. personally for me mine is due to excess weight so i change diet to better help w pcos with natural food and home cook and weight loss. cut caffine and only warm drink no liang food. but this generally for concieving as well . i find the natural home cook food helps w pcos. but to loss alot weight in a short time to concieve naturally was very stressful for me. i concieved with the help of doc prescribed medicine to help ovulate or regulate period. the path he suggested was if pills cannot then to do SO iui or ivf. so it depends on how tight your timeline and if u are open to medical options. i ended up doing ivf cause my hub got slight low sperm n we are in late 30ties already. baby due in September. dont lose hope. be positive... all the best.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I am focusing on eating more home cooked than having takeouts and eating out. Congrats on your little bundle of joy. I will keep your advice in mind :)
hi there. I was diagnosed with PCOS from way before I got married, which was 7 years ago. On top of that, my husband has LSC. After getting married, we knew we wanted to try right away, so began long tedious appointments with different specialists. We tried normal medication and natural methods during the first three years. Then, IUI via private clinic in the forth year. Then a quick break for about 8 months. Finally quit my job, went to SGH for IVF, which was a journey that lasted over a year. But, after 6 and a half years of trying, God granted us a beautiful baby girl and I am now 6 months pregnant. My advice is to be patient. While it may or may not work out for you even when you go for the assisted conception routes, be patient and don't give up. Try again, and again. And hopefully your partner and yourself are always there to support each other. Baby dust to you!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll keep your words in mind. And also congrats on your little bundle of joy :)
I hope one more story here to bring up ur confidence and faith. I was diagnosed with pcos and had went thru western and tcm over the years. After we decided to give ourselves a mental break, we finally conceived this yr. Throughout this period, I’ve been taking coq10, vitamin d3 and folate daily. (But of course do discuss with ur gynae on this) I’m overweight, so I tried to make some adjustment to my lifestyle/diet by exercising more regularly(but I didn’t manage to lose much weight) and cut down on sugary drinks. I heard that to also cut down on coconut drinks and cold drinks , but different body reacts differently. I’m as lost too but just try all I could. Understand it’s difficult to keep a positive mindset, but hang on there and all the best to u!❤️
Thanks for sharing your experience. Congrats on your little bundle of joy :) this does bring me hope
hi there! i was diagnosed with PCOS too after 4 years of TTC. At first i was quite depressed and we really tried everything that we can in our power. I finally sort of 'gave up' and accepted fate that maybe me and husb will be childless. I stopped following the calender and checking when i was ovulating etc and we decided to just be happy with wtv. I started eating better, had a btr work life balance, went for holiday overseas w hubby, and just not stress abt hvg babies and thats when i finally conceived a year after :) it was rlly unexpected but i guess overall i only conceived when i was a happier and better person physically, mentally, emotionally and financially. Now im a happy mama of 2 princess 🥰
Thanks for sharing your experience. It's a hopeful message for me and congratulations on your two beautiful babies :)
I share my story. I had a faint positive line way back last year in July. The next day, a brown large discharge came out and immediately I tested, it was a clear negative. Since then, I was not successful in getting bfp while ttc for 2 years. I found out that I was tested positive for pcos when I thought I was pregnant because I missed my period and I was 2 weeks late. But hcg tests always showed negative. So I went to a clinic to get blood test for hcg and hormones where I got the news.
Update: I got my period after 74 days! Changes I made is to include more vegetables and fruits to my diet and portion control of carbs and takeouts. I added inositol supplement into my routine. Hold and behold, I unexpectedly got my period. I hope with small changes to better my life will help improve my condition. Thanks all again for sharing your experiences and helpful advice. They are all very much appreciated! Baby dust to us in the pursuit of ttc!
I have pcos, diagnosed since my undergrad days. No health issues, healthy weight and relatively active. Things didnt work out. Went to see doc, tried metformin and etc, doc put me on low dose of gonal f to see if can trigger things naturally but didnt work out as well. In the end, went for ivf, successful on second try and i am happily pregnant in my third trimester now. By the way, i am 35 this year.
Thanks for sharing your experience and also congrats on your little bundle of joy :)
I’m also a PCOS mummy who was on the verge of giving up but got a positive test result unexpectedly after consulting my obgyn and going through tests for both me and hubby. The only concern is my pcos. Took duphaston, metformin and aspirin. It’s better to consult an obgyn and they can better advise you. It’s not the end of world and good luck!
Thanks for sharing your experience and advice. Congrats on your little bundle of joy!

I find websites like https://ilovechildren.sg/be-informed/fertility/trying-baby/articles very encouraging! I hope you come across encouraging stories and resources! :)
