Can 8 months baby eat 淮山?

Can 8 month old baby eat a Chinese food call 淮山 cook together with Porridge? Did a Google translate its called Yam in English. My wife wants to cook it with porridge, asking just to be safe.

Can eat. I cook before. If you are worried then you can just serve after 1 year old.
