My 5-year-old daughter is becoming independent. I feel happy but at the same time I feel an emotional turmoil within. What do I do?

Hey, I can absolutely understand what you must be going through! When my first born started becoming independent, I felt like she did not need me any more. Of course I was heartbroken. But with time, your daughter's independent streak will make you smile and be a proud mommy, I can assure you that :) As another mom, I would say let her explore her horizons and try doing things on her own - after all, it's the best way to learn. And tell her that any time she needs you, you are always around to help and guide her. She is still too young at 5 though, so do keep a smart eye on her without letting her know ;)
