38 wks 1 day and been having intense lower abdomen cramps and lower back pain is this sign of labour? im a ftm

Can monitor for any other sign, cause 38th week the baby is lowered hence back pain and abdomen cramps to me was quite normal, in fact now you should have weekly checkup, ask gynae how many cm you have dilate.
