Feeding Newborn

My 18days old newborn took 1hr plus to finish his 80ml milk and sometimes he doesnt finish it. We are feeding him 3hours apart and by the time he finishes, its going to be his next feeding. Anybody experiencing the same thing? #pleasehelp #advicepls #1stimemom

Hi Nuraqilah, Baby’s stomach is extremely small at this stage. Here’s a rough guideline: https://www.lllc.ca/thursday-tip-newborns-have-small-stomachs How’s his output? Is he gaining weight well and producing enough wet diapers?

Hi Nuraqilah, Have you tried feeding him on demand?

Not yet. But is 80ml too much and feeding 3hours apart normal? Also forgot to mention that he fall asleep easily after only drinking 50ml. Are all these behaviour normal for a newborn?
