slow development for boys

my 14 months old boy still dosen't really speak a word now, except unclear papa n mama. he also doesnt show interest when we teach him animals or whatever in the books. is this nornal for boys?

Almost wanted to bring my then 2yo to speech therapist. Got referral from polyclinic. But then he started & just couldnt stop yakking from then on.
