12 month baby keeping using hands or objects to hit her head

12 month baby keeping using hands or objects to hit her head. Any idea why she does this? She keep doing it more and more despite explaining to her not to hit, any advise on this?

Might be exploring cause and effect. what are some of the reactions I will get, the feelings etc. maybe instead of telling her no, say "gentle hands" and demonstrate to her
