Feed herself

My 1 year 2 months doesn’t want to hold her own spoon to eat. She will cried when i try to give her the spoon. What should i do? And do tell me how do i encourage her to eat solid? She is a picky eater and have a hard time swallowing solid food. She will always choke on her food.

Some kids are just lazy (like mine), she doesn’t hold her own bottle till 1 year old, would rather I feed her when she can hold toy spoons well. Now at 27m, she only wants to feed herself 🤦🏻‍♀️. Can try cutting foods (eg carrots) in cute shapes to let her be more interested in solids first. Maybe offer porridge/meesua to see if she can swallow better then gradually move on to harder solids? During meal times, can try to feed daddy or feed yourself (add in some drama moves like opening your mouth then feeding yourself and say yum yum, now can you try it too?) then let her copy your actions. Don’t forget to give lots of praises. Here and there abit of gagging and choking is normal.
