Stay away from sweet wine in pregnancy. Alcohol can be absorbed through the placenta and will ultimately affect the baby’s brain and overall development.
Avoid sweet wine in the postpartum period. It has not benefits to your health or recovery at this stage.
You should avoid drinking sweet wine while breastfeeding if possible. If you do consume it, wait for 2 hours before nursing your baby or you may pump and dump.
Sweet wine is unsafe for babies under the age of 11 months, or of any age.
