Pregnancy

Pregnant mums should not drink red wine. Alcohol can cross your placenta, severely affecting your developing baby's health. It can potentially damage baby's brain cells, and even lead to miscarriage and premature birth.

Postpartum

You should avoid red wine in the postpartum period. Red wine contains alcohol which has no health benefits for you or your baby (via your breast milk). Consult your OB GYN as to when you can start drinking wine, after full recovery and when not breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding mums, you might be dying for a sip of red wine, but it's best to avoid it. Small quantities of alcohol can pass into your breast milk, potentially affecting your baby's health. If you have an occasional glass, don't forget to pump and dump.

Baby

Alcohol in red wine can damage your baby's brain and affect your baby's nervous system. Save it the wine for after 21 years.
