Baby always wana be carried

My newborn baby always wana be carried, everytime we wan to put her back to cot she will cry n scream like duno wat. Such behaviour really prevented us from doing anything else. Felt so helpless. The confinement lady carried her too much in the beginning i guessed. Anyone has similar experiences and any solutions to this? :(
