5 mth baby crying heavily

Cry from 10pm to 1 am.. fed 150ml then 30ml then apply stomache oil and then berp him... still cry very loudly.. he will only sleep when he is tired of crying.. what did we miss out to putting him to sleep? We always carry and walk him till he sleeps.. so I walked around for 3 hrs..
