Posting for a friend-Fire Ant bites

SOS I am currently overseas and my son seems to have been bitten by fire ants which has resulted in an awfully bad rash / reaction on his feet and now spreading to his hands . We gave him an anti allergic right away but this morning his fever spiked to 39 and he’s got chills /fever . We seen a doctor as well and even after ibuprofen, corticosteroid lotions , anti allergic medicines he is suffering. He is always incredibly cooperative and has pain threshold better than most adults I know but even for him this is too much. Is there any home remedy that can give him any relief at all . He just celebrated his 5th birthday 2 days ago and it’s just awful this should happen a day after his celebrations. Has anyone gone through what I have ? How long does this last ? Especially the intense pain and itchiness ? Thank you
