Water retention at 9 weeks

I am only about 10 weeks pregnant with baby no. 3 and experiencing water retention and cramps in my calves despite not running lately. I run 3-4 times a week usually but have not been running for the past 5 days due to the cramps. Anyone else experiencing this?

Extra fluid builds up during pregnancy as hormones change, which helps to soften the body so it can more easily expand as the baby and uterus grow. If you notice a lot of swelling this early on, especially if accompanied by other symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, or bleeding, it’s best to call your gynae to seek for advise.
