Is week 39 too late for elective c-section?

Hi mummies, I am a FTM and planning to schedule an elective c-section on week 39+1. Do you think it is too late? I am worried that baby will come out naturally before that. Please kindly share your experience. On which week do you schedule your c-section?

just checked with my gynae today. she said if labour earlier than scheduled csec and i continue to choose csec, it will be considered as emergency csec :( so she said she will schedule me 1-2 weeks earlier than edd. any day aft that will be too late

    KKH subsidised c-sec date

If we opt for c-sec, how will the exact date being determined (i.e. the gynae will determine or will we have a say for it) if under subsidised patient in KKH? And in which week will the date will be determined? Are we allowed to choose the date if under subsidised? Thank you!

It depends on your situation and baby’s condition, if all is well, you can choose the date of when you want to csec, i think from 37 weeks onwards since full term is 37. However gynae may advise further on when is the best time to csec based on you and baby’s condition. Bt usually can choose
