OSCAR & PE Test

Hi everybody.. I'm a 38yo, currently coming to 10 weeks pregnant and had a history of miscarriage 9 years ago.. Met my gynae at KKH and said that my BP is at borderline... I would like to ask if I should take the OSCAR test and the PE Test? What's your take on these test?

If both you and your husband can accept the baby no matter what then u can skip the oscar. I'm not sure what is a PE test for so can't comment

Highly anxious 2nd time pregnancy after first miscarriage

Hi all. Had my first pregnancy that ended with in a miscarriage last year July. Back story: had my first obs appt, did a scan and doctor said it’s small, but doctor didn’t say how many weeks. I assumed it was around 8-10weeks from LMP. Doctor didn’t say much except will see in 1 week but didn’t even make it to 1 week when I started heavy bleeding and had a miscarriage a couple days later. It was traumatic and so heart breaking as I wasn’t aware I was going through miscarriage. I felt so alone. Just found out I’m pregnant mid Jan with the second pregnancy. Had my first obs appt yesterday and doctor said foetus is very small likely is 5weeks. Now that made really anxious and stressed out as same words were said abt the first pregnancy but doctor again didn’t say much just said see in 3weeks. Got home and I just bawled until I slept. The fear got over my emotions. Events of the first time just played again. I’m really worried. My heart feels broken already. Just wondering what I could do at this point. I really pray this baby grows in the next 3weeks or it will be another heart wrenching event. 😢

Threatened Miscarriage

I’m 11w5d pregnant and I rushed to the hospital this morning because I had massive bleeding. No cramps. I got this called threatened miscarriage. But the baby is healthy. Someone experienced this too? Am I really gonna be okay? I got palm size blood clot this afternoon. 😭

How often should gynae checkup be in the first Trimester and what checks did you do?

I’m in week 9 now. I did my first check in week 4 because Im first time mum and didn’t know what to do or consume for supplements. But my first time was just purely consultation. Second I met my gynae was at week 7 and we did ultrasound and did some swab test because I had some discharge and results was due to yeast infection. And my next appointment now is week 9 coming Friday. Just want to check is the checkup too frequent? Did anyone do NICC test at week 12? Thanks! #f1rstimemom

when week 7 ultrasound did you see heartbeat if not maybe that's why they are checking 2 weeks later. else usually 3 weeks to 1 month for next appointment and I'm categorised as high risk due to health issues but that's for KKH. yes, gng for my test next Friday hopefully everything goes well! Subsidised Route

Hello parents who decided to go through the subsidised route! Could you give me a brief run through on what to expect? It’s my 3rd pregnancy but 2nd (hopefully viable pregnancy) baby and for both, I went through the private route because I had a miscarriage before and really needed that extra care. Now that I’m pregnant again (I’m 8w3d), we’ve decided to go to KKH through the subsidised referral using CHAS from our GP. Our first prenatal appointment is scheduled on the 26th Feb and we’re not sure what to expect. How often are ultrasounds conducted? What about bloodwork and everything else? Thanks in advance!

appointments are monthly, first scan is a dating scan, then another scan a few weeks after will be for first trimester screening (down syndrome screening) subsequent important scan is at 20 weeks which checks for fetal anomalies. the next important scan is 32 weeks growth scan. appointments are usually every month, some are checkpoints for blood tests/diabetes screening/fetal doptone to check baby’s heart rate

Any recommendations to counter the acidic feeling in the tummy?

Ive got morning sickness and my stomach feels like its having stomach flu (not stomach flu. It was like this for my prev pregnancy as well). The bile (?) Or stomach acids give off this heartburn feeling and i need sth to neutralise it. All day i wld burp out the nasty sourish acid gas and its gross 🤮. Any recommendation?

I vouch for gaviscon! however if u prefer the natural route, u can try eating bananas as they are considered alkaline foods which could neutralise the acid. good for nausea as well as they're rich in vitamin B6

Hi everyone, I just had my dating scan done. Base on my lmp, it was supposed to be 8d5w but fetus was measuring a week late. Is it ok? Any advise on what I should do to support fetal growth?

Is it normal to get nose congestion/blocked nose at night during 1st trimester?

I am currently 10 weeks and have been having blocked nose only at night when I’m about to sleep, for the past 2 weeks. 🥺

i have sinus from time to time due to lack of sleep but not specifically what you mention here.
