Rice cooker soy sauce chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken
  • 10 to 15 slices ginger
  • 8 Spring onion, sectioned
  • 3 tbsps light soy sauce For marinade
  • 2 tbsps dark soy sauce For marinade
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce For marinade
  • 2/3 Chinese brown sugar, chopped For marinade
  • 2 tbsps rose wine For marinade
  • 1/2 tbsp pure sesame oil For marinade

Steps

  1. Rinse chicken and wipe dry (including the abdomen).
  2. Mix together light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, rose wine and sesame oil. Pat several slices of ginger and some sections of spring onion into the abdomen of chicken. Marinate for at least 12 hours.
  3. Put the remaining ginger and spring onion into an electric rice cooker. Sprinkle over 1 tbsp of oil (extra ingredient) and add in the chicken.
  4. Cover and turn on the rice cooker in rice cooking mode. Cook for about 50 to 60 minutes and serve.
