Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup barley pearled or hulled
  • 1 cup wintermelon candied
  • 8 cups water
  • 2 pandan leaves rinsed and knotted
  • White sugar to taste

Steps

  1. Rinse and soak barley for 30 minutes. Drain.
  2. Place barley, candied winter melon, water, and pandan leaves in a large pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for an hour.
  3. Remove and allow to cool. Serve warm or chilled.
