Possible Missed Miscarriage

My wife went for her second ultrasound check today. 2 weeks ago the doctor was able to see heartbeat after doing the virginal scan, estimated 6 weeks pregnant. Today the scan was done by the radiologist and no heartbeat was heard, was told baby doesn't seem like growing. Doctor mentioned that it might be a miscarriage and ask us to go back for another scan in a week. Anyone encounter this before and baby is ok? We were crying the entire afternoon as it is our first pregnancy after almost 4 years.

So sorry to hear that… but if the fetal heartbeat is not heard then the pregnancy has stopped. Doctor telling you to scan in another week is to ascertain whether the body will start showing signs of flushing it out naturally or medicine/d&c is needed.

not too sure if the radiologist is skilled enough to detect where the heartbeat is. nonetheless, can only go back for another scan in a week as advised by doctor. please take care meanwhile and all the best to both of you!
