Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication characterized by high blood pressure and can affect the growth of your baby, and also lead to multi-organ failure in the patient. If your blood pressure is too high, you are at risk of all the complications usually tied to it such as heart attack, stroke and organ damage. If untreated and the mother throws a fit, the baby needs to be delivered straightaway or else the mother and/or the baby may die. If you have preeclampsia, the most effective treatment is delivery of your baby.
