the most affordable place would be your own place, if it's big enough, or you can do it at a function hall/room if your estate has one. I celebrated my boy's first month at my DBSS function hall and it was only about $20 for booking if I didn't remember wrongly. alternatively, you can get a close friend or relative who works in the civil service to help book a chalet. civil servants can book aloha loyang/changi for as low as $170 per night during peak periods for a terrace. my hubby who is in SAF managed to book NSRCC for $288 for 4D3N.
